Create this project

npx extension@latest create my-newtab --template newtab
cd my-newtab
npm install
npm run dev

What it is for

  • A new tab page as the primary UI surface
  • Dashboards, launchers, and start pages
  • Starting point for new tab extensions in JavaScript

First steps

  • Run npm run dev to launch the extension
  • Open a new tab and this page loads in place of the default
  • Edit src/newtab/index.html and save to watch the tab update
